Just recently, a job posting at Walmart (NYSE:WMT), one of the largest retail stores in America, appeared on LinkedIn. The retailer needs a professional who is well versed in the field of cryptocurrency products, writes The block crypto.

The nation’s largest retail chain needs a “visionary leader” who can take a senior position in developing cryptocurrency products. Such a leader is called upon to develop a digital currency strategy for Walmart.

Judging by the announcement, such a specialist will be required to be willing to take responsibility for developing a digital currency strategy and a roadmap for crypto products. This implies that the candidate must be an expert in technologies related to digital currencies and blockchain, as he will have to define the vision for such products and the entire roadmap for their development.

In addition, the candidate will “identify investments and partnerships in connection with cryptocurrencies.” However, the announcement does not provide specifics regarding future crypto products.

Interestingly, this announcement comes just weeks after rumors circulated that Walmart rival Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) was also preparing to enter the crypto market. Amazon has already posted online a job advertisement for a leader in the field of digital currency and blockchain. However, Amazon has denied reports that it will accept Bitcoin as a form of payment.
